Canker Root
Copas triloba (L.) Salisb.
A small, erect plant with basal leaves on long stalks adapted to wet areas. Leaves are compound, with three toothed, stalkless leaflets. The flowering stalk is taller than the leaves and ends in a single flower about 1.5 cm in diameter with 6 white petals. Blooms from late-May to early June. The fruit is an elongated capsule that splits when mature.
