Property History:
- Land originally purchased in August of 2006.
- Preliminary work of clearing had been done to prepare the land for blueberries.
- Work began in 2007 to level the land and control the weeds for blueberries.
- In 2009, there was more leveling and mowing and a small blueberry harvest.
- Jasper Wyman’s got involved in managing the land in 2009 and did it in concert with an adjacent lot of blueberries that it owned.
- The last harvest was in 2022. We have relied on Wyman’s to provide a small payment per pound and, based on that, we estimate at least 115,600 lbs of fruit in 2022. Since they harvest their own field at the same time, it’s possible that the estimate is a bit low. They noted that they did not have sufficient bees to service the property.
- The next harvest year will be 2024.
