Sensitive Fern
Onoclea sensibilis L.
Sensitive fern has distinctively broad fronds that may spread by rhizomes. Infertile fronds are green and die-back. Fertile fronds are shorter and bear spore producing bodies at the rolled edges. These fronds turn dark with age and may persist for several years. Spores are produced from June till October.
