Black Medick
Medicago lupulina L.
A low-growing, prostrate annual legume with hairy stems up to 0.5 m long. Leaves are clover-like with 3 hairy leaflets . The middle leaflet has the longest stalk. The flowering head is a globe-shaped cluster of small, yellow pea-like flowers about 1 cm in diameter. The fruit is a small, black, kidney-shaped pod containing a single black seed. Blooms from late June to mid September.
