Common Ragweed
Ambrosia artemisitfolia L.
An erect, much branched annual up to 1.0 m or more tall. Leaves are deeply divided. Seedling and lower leaves are opposite, upper leaves are alternate along the stem. Green, staminate (male) flowers are found in elongated clusters on the tips of the upper branches; pistillate (female) flowers occur in leaf axils and produce a single, hard triangular seed.
