Common Vetch
Vida angustifolia L.
An erect to trailing, slender annual with vine-like stems to 1.0 m long. Leaves are compound with 3 to 5 pairs of narrow leaflets 1.5 to 3.0 cm long. Terminal leaflets are tendrils. The pea-like flower occurs in leaf axis. Flowers are white to blue and occur in pairs. The fruit is a smooth pod up to 4.0 cm long that turns black at maturity. Blooms in June and July.
