Common Yarrow
Achillea millefolium L.
An erect, often fragrant perennial 20 to 80 cm tall spreading by rhizomes forming dense patches of fine feathery foliage and hairy stems. Leaves are alternate, finely divided and more numerous near base of the stem. The flowering head is a slightly rounded cluster of numerous small compound flowers. The outer ray florets have 5 ‘petals’, usually white but occasionally pink to red. Blooms from June to September.
