Spiraea tomentosa L.
An erect shrub up to 1.0 m in height often on low-lying, poorly drained sites. Leaves are alternate, oval with Toothed margins and the underside is covered with densely matted white or brown hairs. The flowering head is a dense, 5-15 cm long panicle of small white to rose flowers with 5 rounded petals. It is more compact than the closely related broad-leaved meadowsweet. Flowers from July to September.
