Prunella vulgaris L.
An erect perennial up to 50 cm tall with square stems. Leaves are opposite, lance-shaped, hairy and have smooth margins. Flowers are borne in dense clusters of spikes at the end of stems. Flowers have 5 blue to purple, irregularly shaped petals fused into a floral tube. Each flower produces 4 dark seeds. Blooms from mid summer to mid fall.
