Labrador Tea
Ledum groenlandicum Oeder.
An evergreen shrub adapted to wet and boggy areas that may grow to 0.5 m in blueberry fields, but may be taller elsewhere. Stems are covered with a dense orange down. Leaf margins are tightly rolled under and the under side of the leaves are covered with dense woolly hairs that become orange with age. Flowers are white with 5 petals and occur in terminal clusters. It flowers from early June to early July. The fruit is an elongated capsule that persists on the plant.
