A slender, trailing or climbing perennial with square stems up to 90 cm long and spreading by rhizomes to form dense patches Leaves are linear to lance-shaped with smooth edges and 3 distinct veins . Leaves occur in whorls of 4 Four white petals are fused into a floral tube and masses of small flowers occur in much branched, terminal flower heads . The fruit contains 2 seeds covered with hooked bristles. Blooms June to August. One of several Galium species that may be found.
