White Goldenrod
Solidago bicolor L.
An erect, stout perennial up to 0.5 m tall and adapted to poor, dry sites Stems and leaves are greyish and covered with long, soft hairs. Leaves are alternate with toothed margins. Lower leaves with long stalks, upper ones without or with reduced stalks. The flower head is compact and not spreading. Flowers are cream to white and it is the only goldenrod that is not yellow. Blooms in August and September.
